TV personality Ant Middleton set to recreate the legendary Mutiny of the Bounty voyage.
Ex forces turned TV star Ant Middleton teams up with Channel 4 in a unique experiment that challenges 21 st century men to re-live one of the greatest feats of maritime adventure and endurance in naval history. Ant will step into Captain William Bligh’s boots for a 6 part series as he attempts to re-create the legendary Mutiny on the Bounty, the 4000-mile journey across the Pacific Ocean from Tonga to Timor in a replica 23ft open wooden boat.
Ant will be pushed to the limit as he attempts to lead his team made up of sailors and complete novices on this intense survival challenge. Armed with similar equipment and the same rations of food and water, will Ant be able to keep his men in check and lead them to safety?
Channel 4 Commissioning Editor Rob Coldstream says, “Mutiny is a hugely bold and ambitious project. It’s not only an intense survival challenge in its own right, with jaw-drop locations and stunning visuals – it’s also an exciting new way of getting under the skin one of history's great adventure stories in a way that feels genuinely distinctive.”
